WELCOME BACK CADETS !!

Welcome Back Cadets to the fall of 2011 semester ! Its time to wake up from that sleepy summer and jump head first into the new year. This year we are all excited to welcome Stephen Harris as our new Group Commander. He and the top six for this semseter our already planning new and exciting things for us to do this year. We hope you have an excellent beging of the year !!

Military Ball Tickets are on Sale!

Military ball tickets are on sale until this friday for $5. After this Friday they will be $10, then from the May 2 to May 6 they will be $15, and at the door they will be $20! So buy your tickets soon!

Summer Leadership School Meeting

There will be a summer leadership school meeting on April 28 at 6:30. Parents must be there so forms will be completely filled out.

JROTC Picture Proofs

There will be two opportunities to view the JROTC Picture Proofs that were taken a few weeks ago.

The dates are:

Monday, May 2 - 3:00PM to 7:30PM
Tuesday, May 3 - 3:00PM to 7:30PM

Washington D.C. Junior-Senior Trip

This past weekend, NC-961 travelled to Washington D.C. to look at many of the top attractions in the area. The unit looked at exhibits and enjoyed in depth tours on the National Mall, the Air and Space Udvar-Hazy Center, The Pentagon, Arlington Cemetery, and Mount Vernon.

Prestigious Unit Award to be Received this Year

We have been informed last Friday that NC-961 has been selected to recieve the Distiguished Unit with Merit Award. This award is the highest recognition a unit may receive and is normally only given during inspection years. This award places NC-961 in the top precentage of around 900 AFJROTC units world wide.

The unit has received a Distiguished Unit award for the past 9 years, and the unit has not received the award with merit since the last unit inspection in 2008.

Honor Guard Victory at Sanderson

This past saturday, NC-961 attended the Capital City Drill Meet at Sanderson high School. After a long stressful day, the unit brought home First Place Overall for the second time. We also received 11 other contributing awards.
